Basic Nail Polish Tutorial

Happy New Year's Everybody! I know I'm late with this, but since school has been announced as "CLOSED" I have had the time to make/edit videos and now I'm making blog posts for them :) Honestly, school has been hectic and I haven't found any time to paint my nails.  But! Since yesterday was me and my boyfriends 2nd year anniversary [pictures at the end], I decided that it was time to tidy up my nails.

I'm going to start by listing the products that I used and what I used them for.

  • Nail Buffer
  • Cuticle Oil
  • Clear Nail Polish
  • O.P.I. - "And this Little Piggy"
  • Seche Vite - "Dry Fast Top Coat"
  • O.P.I - "Drip and Dry"

  • Nail Buffer - [Sally's Beauty Supply - $1.50 ] I didn't show this in the video, but this is what I use to even out my nail bed to have a smooth surface :) I'm sure everyone knows how to buff their nail. (yoiina - Has asked me to do a tutorial on prepping nails before application)

  • Cuticle Oil - [Sally's Beauty Supply - $1.00+ ] This step wasn't shown either, but I love using this [before and after application] because, not only does it heal your cuticles and gives it the nutrients needed but it also helps speed up the drying process of your nail-polish when used after.

  • Clear Nail Polish - [French Tip Dip - this came in a kit ] I used this because I had ran out of my O.P.I. Base/Top coat nail polish and my Sally Hansen's "Hard as Wraps".  I don't exactly have a say for this, positive or negative. But, I can say that it saved me from directly painting color on my nails :)

  • O.P.I. - ["And this Little Piggy" - $4.00 ] This color I adore! It is very buildable and many designs can be done with this color.  Sometimes I wear a very thing 'barely there' coat or a thick 'all the way there' look. Teehee. You don't have to use this as your base color, I just used this because I was planning on doing another tutorial with this color after.

  • Seche Vite - [Sally's Beauty Supply - $7.99 ] I love this top coat! But lately, it has given me problems. Such as making my nail polish off after a few hours.  I don't know if its the nail polish combination I use or if this Seche Vite is a defective product.

  • O.P.I. - ["Drip and Dry"] I don't know I took a picture of this product..I didn't use it in any part of my tutorial. Hehe.

Well that's it for the product listings! On to my 2nd Anniversary Gift!
